ABOUT CALDERMEADE FARM
A short drive from Melbourne, the farm is situated on the South Gippsland Highway, south of Pakenham, perfect for a day trip.
Caldermeade Farm and Cafe is the ideal place to stop off on a trip to Phillip Island or when visiting the many attractions of Gippsland. Settled in 1875, Caldermeade was originally one of the region’s premier beef cattle properties. Today it is a modern, fully operational commercial dairy farm focusing on educating and entertaining its visitors. Nestled behind century-old Hawthorn hedges is the family friendly café providing indoor and outdoor dining. Schools, communities, disabled and special interest groups can take advantage of specialised farm tours by arrangement.
ANIMAL NURSERY
Come up close to pet baby calves and feed our cheeky goats in our animal nursery, along with ducks, geese, alpacas, chickens, rabbits and deer!
THE GARDEN
Enjoy the great outdoors and spend the afternoon in our garden & playground.
MILKING
See the milking of our Jersey cows live from the viewing room every day from 2:30pm.
Our herd of over 500 jersey cows provides the beautifully creamy milk used in our various milk products. Hailing from the channel island of the same name, Jersey cows are known for their rich, creamy and distinctive yellowish milk. We milk our beautiful cows twice a day.
